Chimr ships a built-in Model Context Protocol server, so Claude Desktop and Claude Code can read your schedule and open a call for you.

MCP runs through Chimr’s Background Service, entirely on your Mac. Enable it once in Settings → Advanced.

Four privacy levels. Strict is the tight one — it shares only the time and event status and masks each title as “[Event].” The other three add the title, calendar, and location.

Questions, answered

What macOS version do I need?

Chimr requires macOS 14.0 (Sonoma) or later. It runs natively on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.

Which calendars does it work with?

Any account added to your Mac’s Calendar app — iCloud, Google, Outlook, Exchange, and more. If your Mac knows about it, so does Chimr.

How early does it notify me?

Pick from 1, 3, 5, 10, or 15 minutes before — or turn it off. The default is 1 minute, and you can snooze a reminder from 1 to 15 minutes (5 by default).

What is MCP, and do I need it?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets AI assistants like Claude talk to your apps. It’s optional. Turn on Chimr’s Background Service in Settings → Advanced, and Claude can query your calendar and join meetings — all locally on your Mac.

Is my calendar data private?

Yes. Everything runs on your Mac. For MCP, four privacy levels control what’s shared: Strict sends only time and event status, while attendee names, emails, meeting URLs, and notes are never shared at any level.

Is it a subscription?
